Tim Gassauer (*1997 in Nordhausen) is a photographer based between Chemnitz and Berlin. Straddling the line between documentary and artistic photography, his research-driven practice links historical traces with contemporary political discourses and explores questions of memory, belonging and violence.
\nAfter earning a Bachelor’s degree in communication and political science from »Freie Universität Berlin«, he completed his photography studies at »Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie« in 2024 under Göran Gnaudschun. He is currently enrolled in the Master’s program »Visual Strategies and Stories« at »Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle«, where he studies under Prof. Stephanie Kiwitt.
