This series focuses on the work the fishermen (pescadores) from the village of Canoa, located at the Pacific coast of Ecuador. The boats they use to head out are very basic – as are their fishing-techniques and tools. Working in the scorching sun, skin protection has to be done very carefully. At noon small groups of pescadores gather to tie their boats together and have a lunchbreak before hauling their nets and heading back to the shore. While creating this series in december, the average catch was relatively poor compared to the main season.
